Glimmer of Hope offers a Resettlement Services Programs to assist refugees with basic needs and services during their initial resettlement period in the United States.
Refugee clients are provided with case management and assistance while they work to meet the many challenges of transitioning in the US Those Services include:
Immigration Legal Services
Low- Cost immigration services often needed by refugees so they can begin their process.
Economic Development
A vital step towards self-sufficiency is finding employment, which presents unique challenges as our clients adjust to a new culture. We assist them in the job search, resume development, and interview skills.
Social Adjustment Services
Glimmer provides case management for various needs, such as applying for public benefits: Medicaid, Food Stamps and cash. English classes, Mental Health care, appointments for ID & Driver’s license, assistance with placing their children in schools, and anything else that they might need.
Employment Services
Glimmer assists with finding and maintaining employment and can be accessed at any time during the first couple of years. Services include: Resume building, job readiness class, job application assistance, and hiring paperwork.
Adult and vocational Education
Clients can participate in the adult education services which include English as a Second language (ESL) classes which increases their abilities to navigate everyday life in America. Vocational Training, Vocational English, Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Diploma (GED) preparation classes
